Note: these are just my ideas and my opinion.
What we need is a gigantic online digital chinese character database, free content, like the way wiktionary has chinese characters, with stroke orders And sound recordings for every language and dialect that uses it, including all reconstructions of ancient languages like Old chinese, middle chinese, old korean, old japanese, and a picture of what its supposed to represent and the meaning like in a dictionary entry in wenyanwen. Alternate characters with same meaning would be noted on every entry, and alternate variants and styles too. Ancient meanings should be noted. [1] [2]
Also avalible should be ancient forms of the characters, with date used and name.Useful Site for the Study of Chinese Characters and their Ancient Variants
Category pages like on wikipedia should be used to sort things out.
It should have rime tables for every dialect.
Scripts like jurchen and khitan script that use characters similar to chinese shouldd be included.

[编辑]We should have character input installed on this wikipedia, with a neurtal system that can type both traditional, simplified, and is based on character structure, radicals, not pronounciation. Tibetan, Dzonkha, hindi, and bengali wikipedias have their scripts typable by clicking on a check box on top of their editing window, which allows them to type their own alphabets phonetically through a latin alphabet keyboard.
Wubi and Cangjie are good methods.
